Last Wednesday, October 26, the big day. There is hardly a soul in sight at the basketball court stadium at lunch time but things are already underway. That's Armando waving in the far left corner.
Someone has been working. Those desks and altar boards didn't get there on their own.
Okay. Now things are looking livelier. Lots of people about and more on the way. It's the Day of the Dead celebration for UMAR Huatulco 2016. This is the best time for taking pictures, before night falls and my sketchy digital camera struggles with the focus.
I wouldn't miss one of these events for the world.
It's fun being a vampire. Doesn't she look great for 300 years old?
You can tell I'm a tad put off. One of these young women just told me my costume was cute. That is not what I was going for. If I'm cute, like the baby on the right for instance, then the word really has no meaning anymore.
